Halloween

In this assignment, we took pictures of people with masks on that represent things or people that we were scared of when we were younger. We were influenced by Halloween! Also, with this assignment, we "fooled" around with Picnik, because they have really great effects and we have never used it before to edit photos.

Macro Series Shots

For this project, we had to take pictures of toys with pictures in the background. We did this in order to experiment with foreground background. Through foreground background, we could make the toys look very real. It was a really fun assignment, and we all got incredible realistic shots.

Portraits

In class, we watched a documentary on Avedon and his style of portraits. Our assignment then was to go out and take pictures in his style. Avedon has a very unique style of photography. He doesn't like his subjects to pretend or put on an act, he wants to capture real emotions that we naturally convey. A blank stare and a sad face are perfect examples of the emotions he captures in his photos.

Shadows

For this assignment, we had to capture shadows in the form of length, abstract, and very obvious shadows. I found it more fun to capture the abstract and very obvious shadows. The length of shadows wasn't that appealing for me. However, I did have a lot of fun shooting this project.
